Accused of Hacking Aadhaar Card
The Bangalore Police detained IITIAN, who hacked the data of a very important Aadhar card and created an app by misusing it. The accused Abhinav Shrivastav has been a B Tech graduate from IIT Kharagpur, he is a resident of Kanpur.
Kanpur Police has arrested him on the complaint of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). He was currently a software engineer in Ola Company in Bangalore. Police got more than 40 thousand people’s data from his laptop, which he had collected from the Aadhaar card network.
The App Was Running The Name Aadhaar E-kyc
In the police questioning, Abhinav said that after being influenced by fellow mate and inspired from Shrivastav, he had started preparing an app that hacked the Aadhar card since 2012. During that time, he and his fellow mate were studying in IIT Kharagpur.
Fake Aadar App
It took four years to build this app. In December 2016, after creating the app, the information was collected by him is more than of 40 thousand people. He put the app in the Google Play store in January 2017.
Ola Hacker On Linkedin Profile
Abhinav Shrivastav has written himself as ola hacker on LinkedIn’s profile. He made a mobile payment app to pay the mobile bill. It was purchased by the taxi company Ola in March 2017. UIDAI official Ashok Lenin told that Abhinav has used the Aadhaar card illegally between January 1, 2017 and July 26, 2017.
One Million People Are Using The App
The cyber team of the Bangalore Police is investigating this matter. Initial investigation revealed that nearly one lakh people are downloading this app and using it. Now the investigation agency is preparing to remove this app from Google play store as soon as possible.
By clicking on this app, anybody can access the Aadhaar card and access the information related to the Aadhaar card. In addition, he has created five more apps. He has earned the money through ads on these apps.
