From the beginning the Himachal Pradesh government has taken several welfare initiatives for the upliftment of the deprived sections of the state society. Under the Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana, people with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh and deprived of residential facilities will be eligible for this scheme. Financial assistance has been increased under the Chief Minister Widow and Single Women Housing Scheme. This will provide a big relief to the dependents for sure.
Eligibility of ‘Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana’

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has said that the state government has taken many welfare initiatives for the upliftment and betterment of the deprived sections of the society and to make their life more respectable. In this episode, approval has been given to begin ‘Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana’.
‘Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Scheme’
Under this scheme, citizen who have annual income less than Rs 2.5 lakh and deprived of residential facilities will be eligible for this yojana. For more detailed information and application form of the scheme, people can contact to their nearby and the concerned Tehsil Welfare Officer. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to the sanitation workers of the Valmiki community.

Rupees 1.5 lakh increased to Rs 3 lakh for building a house
In a statement issued from Shimla on Monday, the CM sukhu said that the state government has taken welfare steps and has also increased the financial assistance under the ‘Mukhyamantri Vidhwa and Ekal Nari Awas Yojana’.
Under this scheme, now the assistance amount for building a house for widows and single women has been increased from Rupees 1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
He said that the state government is working with full commitment for the welfare of the deprived sections and the government is improving the standard of living of homeless families by providing them shelter as per their need.
