EPFO New Update Transfer your PF Accounts without HR approval in EPFO

Online Transfer PF Amount Without Employer Approval

Yes! Earlier, this used to be a very hectic procedure where once an employee requests for online PF transfer, it is compulsory where HR should approve the transfer request after validating the request. But as per the new circular passed by EPFO on 15th Jan 2025, if your request is validated by one time password OTP, then it will be directly directed to the PF field officer for approval without HR’s intervention.

Employees can submit transfer claims directly by satisfying the below criteria:

1. Transfers within the same UAN (UAN issued on or after 01/10/2017)

If the same UAN (Universal Account Number) is linked to multiple Member IDs and is linked to Aadhaar.

2. Transfers between different UANs (both issued on or after 01/10/2017)

If an employee has multiple UANs linked to the same Aadhaar, the system identifies them as belonging to the same person, allowing seamless transfer without employer involvement.

3. Transfers within the same UAN (UAN issued before 01/10/2017)

For older UANs, the PF transfer works if the UAN is linked to Aadhaar and the name, date of birth (DOB), and gender match across Member IDs.

4. Transfers between different UANs (at least one issued before 01/10/2017)

Transfers between multiple UANs (one older) are allowed if both UANs are linked to the same Aadhaar and personal details (name, DOB, gender) match.

EPFO Claim Approval

With the introduction of the revised process, it is expected that in future over 1.20 crore out of 1.30 crore total transfer claims i.e. 94% of the total claims would be directly forwarded to EPFO without requiring the employer’s intervention.
