Government has clarified that aadhaar card is mandatory for Pan and income tax returns from 1st July
Even if you are having a PAN card, but there is no Aadhaar card, still then your PAN Card will not be cancelled. But if you are thinking of making a PAN card after 1st July, then first enroll yourself for Aadhar Card. Because without the aadhaar card and UID, no pan card will be created after 1st July. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) of the Government of India has given this information.
Aadhar Needed For PAN Card Registration
The same thing was said by the Supreme Court on Friday, which has been cleared by the government. According to the statement issued by the CBDT, Aadhaar number and enrollment id must be mentioned in all the PAN cards formed from July 1 and also required. Without these details any application will not be considered.
“From first July onward, anyone who is eligible to get Aadhaar card should mention their Aadhaar no / Enrolment ID for filing IT returns & during applications for PAN as per CBDT guidelines”.

Along with that, the CBDT also said that whose PAN card has been issued before or after first July, If he has the Aadhaar card, then the PAN and the aadhar should be linked by providing your details to income tax department. Because if a one having UID/aadhaar and he continue using is PAN with out linking then his PAN will be cancelled.
“Those who allotted with PAN as on first Jul and have Aadhar no or eligible to get it, must give Aadhar no to IT authorities for linking PAN and Aadhar card as per CBDT notification.”

The CBDT has also tried to clear up those things, those who have a PAN card, but no UID card. Such people are afraid of government orders that their PAN cards could be cancelled out. CBDT has made it very clear that if someone has a PAN card and no Aadhar card. Nor is he making a aadhar card in the near future. Even then his pan card will continue. Such people do not need to be panic.
SC decision On Whole Matter
Partial relief provided by Court to those people who don’t have Aadhar and who don’t want to register for Aadhar in upcoming time that their PAN won’t be cancelled: CBDT
Significantly, on Friday, the Supreme Court had partially banned the decision of the central government, in which the government had said that if people did not link their base with PAN, then their PAN card will be considered cancelled out. But after the Supreme Court verdict and the petition of the CBDT, the illusion that spread on this issue has become quite clear.
