Government Throw More Light On Aadhar Myths

The Modi government has provided notification regarding interpretation about the aadhar. The motive of the central government is to give the proper and accurate information regarding the UID to the citizen.

With the help of this, the government tries to discard any misconception or confusion created in the nation people. And they can take the various advantages provided with the help of only using aadhaar card.

Now let’s move onto the various which have been spread out with respect to unique identification provided by UIDAI department.   

Myth -There was news about the leak of the aadhar number. This has increased the concern among people.

Fact: It’s wrong. The fact is that some agencies of the Central Government and State Governments were preparing their beneficiaries through State Wise, District Wise and Village Wise Detail Search menu. It was necessary to do this under the RTI act. It is now the IT Act and the aadhar act. These acts prohibit publishing a UID number, bank account and other personal details.

As soon as it came to the notice that some agencies were publishing the base number and bank account number of the beneficiaries in the search menu were asked to remove the details and the agencies removed the details.  The important thing is that no biometrics data has been displayed and no data leak has been done from UIDAI. In such a situation, the news about aadhar data leaked is completely misleading the society in wrong way.

Myth – I have unknowingly set my base number on social media. Now anyone can steal my identity.

Aadhaar number, bank account number and mobile number are not secret. Although these are sensitive personal identification which contain your related information. Your secret number is your PIN, password etc. It should not be shared. But it is wrong to believe that if someone knows your Aadhaar number then he can hack your linked account number to your aadhar.

However, you should not have to share the Aadhaar number, bank account number or any personal details on any website or social media for your own security.

Myth – Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act ensures that there will be no refusal to give any benefit to anyone due to lack of aadhaar card. But the notification issued on the aadhar card is contrary to this provision.

Fact- Section 7 of the UID Act is very clear about the fact that if the subsidy is being given from the government of India’s fund, then the government can demand a aadhar number. If the beneficiary does not have the base, then it can be asked to enroll for the base and by then benefits are provided with other identification options.

Myth – I will have to give my fingerprint to the telecom company to take a SIM card. Can Telecom Company Keep My Biometrics For Future Use?

Fact- No Telecom Company cannot store your biometrics with them. The collected biometrics service is encrypted by the provider and can be sent immediately to the UIDAI. Storing biometrics by any agency is a serious offense, and the person doing so may be sentenced to a three year jail under the Aadhaar Act.

Myth- There are reports that the UID will be used to track me.

Fact- According to the Aadhaar Act, no agency can track any person through the UID number. If anyone tries to track someone through Aadhaar numbers then this is a crime case and can be punished under  Aadhar Act.

So this is all about the most common myths with respect to aadaar. Know more about related aadar card myths and beware of such things. Because these things can be circulated without having proper details.
